What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

20/20: Volume I

These days have been lazy and slow, just the way I like them. Staying at home for the last few days, I enjoyed just being with family and spending rainy afternoons with a good book or old movie. Today, I went through my old stuff again (diaries, slumbooks, letters) like I always did when I’m home. Because I felt nostalgic and all mushy, and because I’ve recently come across blog posts with the author answering random questions about themselves, I say why not try it?

20 questions, 20 answers.

What’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

I’d have to say Santorini. That place just took my breath away. Cinque Terre comes in close second. But of course, Paris will always be my favorite city in the world.

If you could pick a new first name, what would it be?

I’ve always wanted to be an Athena. Or Sophia.

Do you feel like a leader or a follower?

I don’t know if this counts but back in grade/high school and even college, I was always the leader in group activities and events and never missed being part of the student council. I always volunteered only (and I mean only) when I know I’m good at something and would be able to deliver. But on occasions that I’m not, I always try to contribute to the best of my ability because the team comes first. I’m a good team player.

What are your 3 favorite movies?

This is a hard one because I just have way too many. My definition of a favorite movie is something that I can watch over and over again and never get sick of it so answering right off the top of my head I would have to go with Now and Then, 10 Things I Hate About You and Under the Tuscan Sun.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Do all things with love. Follow your dreams. Pray, pray, pray.

What do you think is the greatest invention of all time?

Does the internet even count? But because I’d like to believe I’m still part-millennial I would go for smartphone.

What’s the worst thing you did as a kid?

Lie to my parents of my whereabouts when I know they’d be really pissed. I didn’t skip school or any of that sort but because I’m only child, I had tighter restrictions than most kids, at least that’s what I thought.

Name 3 celebrities you most admire.

JK Rowling because Harry Potter, obviously. Joanna Gaines because I just love love love her style – minimal, rustic and vintage when it comes to designing homes and spaces. Camie Juan (favorite b/vlogger) because she’s my biggest influence when it comes to blogging and she inspires me to go after my creative pursuits.

What is the scariest movie you’ve ever seen?

Sinister.

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Carbonara. Chicken potato salad. Moist chocolate brownies. I can eat them every freakin’ day. Can I still add sushi?

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I guess being able to stand tall and say, I’ve come this far because I worked hard to get where I am and never gave up. It’s cliche to say that I followed my dreams but it’s the truth, plus I have a great support system – my husband and of course my family right here (I’m currently at home in the Philippines as I write this) who always prayed for me and supported me every step of the way.

When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to make yourself feel better?

I eat ice cream to release endorphins. Or I buy stuff like new clothes or books to divert my attention. Or I just talk to my mom. But most of the time when I can’t handle it, I pray and just like that, things get better.

Do you ever count your steps when you walk?

No.

Who would you like to live like for a day?

Maybe some famous travel blogger I follow on Instagram who gets major envy-worthy perks of doing what they love (blogging and traveling) and sometimes gets paid and have their trips sponsored.

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?

Definitely tucked in. I can’t sleep without a blanket/comforter even if it’s warm enough without one.

What 3 famous people, living or dead, would you want at your fantasy dinner party?

I’d say Audrey Hepburn, Marie Antoinette and maybe Jane Austen.

Which of the Seven Dwarfs is most like you?

I would say I’m Doc because then I’d be the “realist” of the group who wants to get things done and get everyone to focus on the goal before having fun.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

If it has to be some Hollywood actress, I would pick Lucy Hale because she’s petite and bubbly and because I was Aria in Pretty Little Liars. If it has to be a Pinay actress, I would choose an indie newcomer like that girl in the film Ang Nawawala.

If you could time travel, where would you go?

I’d really want to go back and experience Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece because I’ve always been interested in both Egyptian and Greek mythology. Our recent trip to Italy also stirred my fascination with the arts so I’d like to experience Renaissance Era for myself. If I had to list more I’d say Marie Antoinette’s Paris, Mary Queen of Scots’ reign in French court, William Shakespeare’s England and Anne Frank’s World War II.

What’s your favorite childhood book?

I was hoping to get this question from the very start. 🙂 I would skip the fairy tales and storybook classics on this one. I would have to say, Francine Pascal’s Sweet Valley Twins and of course, Harry Potter. (Potterhead forever.)

I’m surprised I enjoyed answering random questions out of the blue such as these. Out of 101 questions, I used the Random Number Generator to pick the questions I posted here. Apart from you getting to know me, it seemed like I was trying to get to know me more which is kinda therapeutic so expect more posts like this in the near future. Also, if you’re wondering about this post’s title, it’s my favorite question from the bunch. Did we have the same answers? Let me know, I’d love to hear from you!

Until then,

This is where I got the questions from.
